The Department of American Literature and Culture at School of English AUTh organizes an international symposium titled

John Ashbery in the American Poetry Scene”

to be held on 19 Μarch 2026
(online via ΖΟΟΜ)
20 Μarch 2026
(on site at the Amph. Central Library AUTh)

The symposium is organized in order to celebrate
the AUTh Centenary Anniversary & International Poetry Day.

The Symposium aims at showcasing John Ashbery’s, a distinguished American poet’s, multifaceted poetry work by bringing together speakers and poets from Greece and abroad.

 

The presentations, roundtable and workshops that take place in the two-day international event aim at highlighting the unique power and aesthetics of Ashbery's poetic writing in contemporary literature.
